Nilratan kanjilal was born on 1st March 1944. Since childhood he has special affinity towards music. Basically he is a Bengali folk singer, he is an approved lyricist of All India Radio, Kolkata. He is also an A- Grade artist of Bengali Folk songs of AIR & Doordarshan, Kolkata.
Sri Kanjilal has visited UK, in 2007 on invitation to participate in many public functions at Birbingham, Manchester, London, Liverpool etc. and also in many cities of Bangladesh to perform Bengali folk songs which had been highly appreciated by all.
Sri kanjilal dare singing Rabindra Sangeet on a CD because of his strong attractions on the subject. Imperfection, if any, deserves forgiveness. In this album, he has sang 10 Rabindra Sangeet .
