Born in a music loving family, Debanjan’s initiation to SARODE was at a tender age of 5 yrs, under the guidance of Late Ustad Dhyanesh Khan. Since his sad demise, Debanjan is under the tutelage of Ustad Aashish Khan and Smt. Ameena Perera of Maihar Senia Gharana. He has also participated in various workshops conducted by the Living Legend Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.He stood FIRST in a competition of Indian Instrumental Classical music organised by Baba Allaudin Khan Memorial Committee in collaboration with Rajya Sangeet Academy, Kolkata at the age of 10.He was awarded the National Scholarship of Music (Jr.) from the Centre for Cultural Resources & Training, New Delhi in the year 1997.He had secured the FIRST place in a talent search competition, in the field of Instrumental Classical Music organised by ‘The Dover Lane Music Conference’, Kolkata, in the year 2006.

He has performed as an artiste in the children’s section of AIR including the Children’s Day programme at Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata, in the “Young Talents’ Conference” at KalaKunj, Kolkata (1999), for Medha at Birla Academy (1997) & Nazrul Manch (2003), at Bharatiya Sanskriti Parishad (2003), in “The Rising Talent’s Conference” at Chakdah, Nadia, W.B (2005) with great appreciation from all concerned. He also performed at Uttam Manch, Kolkata under the banner of ‘Dover Lane Music Conference – Periodic Session’ in the year 2006. Participated in concerts having theme ‘Rag Sangit O Rabindrasangeet’ at Sisir Manch & Madhusudan Manch in the year 2007.Debanjan is presently pursuing his studies in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
