Abantika Chakraborty has been a keen pursuant of Hindusthani Classical Music since her childhood. At an early age of 4 years, she started receiving arduous training from her elder sister Smt. Swapna Chakraborty and subsequently remained under active guidance of notable vocalist Late Amarnath Bhattacharya & his son Alokenath of Rampur Sahaswan Gharana towards completion of Sangeet Bivakar Diploma (1982-83) from to place in First Division with Distinction. She enhanced her talim before the legendary (Guru Pandit Prasun Bandhopadhyay of Patiala Gharana for not less than 10 years and then under late Pt. Sunil Bose of Agra Gharana in SRA . During this tenure she has also completed her Hons. Graduation from Calcutta University (1987) and B.Mus. (Spl.Hons.) in Hindusthani Classical Music from Rabindra Bharati University (1990) with 1st Class marks.) She stood first in a number of music competitions like Pashchim Banga Rajya Sangeet Academy Music Competition (1987). All India Radio Music Competition (1988), Dover Lane Talent Contest (1988), Sangeet Research Academy Regional Music Competition 1999 etc. in Kheyal / Thumri division.
Proficient tabla player Raghunath Nandy comes of a dignified music enriched family of the famous Bishnupuri Gharana. His grandfather late Bholanath Nandy was an eminent dhrupad singer of his era. Raghunath is a direct descendant of his uncle, late Subodh Nandy. the star pakhwaj and tabla player of national fame. Born in 1965. Raghunath started his formal tabla training as a disciple of renowned tabla player Budhadev Sarkar since 1976 and during this tenure, he stood lst in the All India Competition (1984) organized by the Bangiya Sangeet Panshad. Since then Raghunath remained an honored disciple of celebrated trainer Natubabu of Benaras discipline. Finally he achieved as long as nine years talim from the tabla maestro Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh during 1987-1996 and later he took his talim from Pt. Anindo Chatterjee. Meanwhile, he was recognized as a 'Talent' in the Golden Talent Search Contest (1992) conducted by the HMV and completed his Honors Graduation in Bharatiya Taal Badya from Rabindra Bharati University in 1993. He had been one of the participants in the esteemed Tansen (Sammelan) Conference in 2007.
