Sangeetacharya Radhika Mohan Maitra's style of playing was a blend of the rabab-ang learnt from Ustad Md. Amir Khan, his first Guru, and the senia Drupad-Veena-Sursringar-Angs which she embibed from the Senia Ustad Md. Dabir Khan, his second Guru. With an expert fusion of the two styles he fashioned an imitable mode of sarod playing, a totally unique one.
In this CD, he has played Raag Bageshree, Alaap, Jor, Vilambit and Drut gats. Superb tabla accomapaniment has been provided by Shankar Ghosh who at the time of recording (1970) was a rising young tabalia.
