Paramita Majumder, a young versatile singer of hindustani light classical music hails from a musical family. She had her musical training from childhood form her grandfather Late Pandit Siddheshwar Mukhopadhyay , who was an institution of music in himself and her mother Smt Krishna Majumder a renowned nazrulgeeti and light classical singer . She also had her training from Pt. Arun Bhaduri and Pt. Aloke Chattopadhyay in classical music .
Paramita had recognition of her musical talent at a young age of thirteen when she stood first in ghazal in the talent search contest organized by Nehru childrens museum Calcutta . She is a regular performer in AIR and Doordarshan Calcutta and has participated in number of programmes and competition as Dover Lane etc.
