Late Pt. Krishna Kumar Ganguly (Natu Babu) is a rare personality devoted entirely to learning and teaching of tabla for his own sake. The artist of this opus, Late Krishna Kumar Ganguly better known as Natu Babu was an illustrious Guru in the ancient tradition of India. Tabla was not for him a lucrative pursuit, on the contrary he would spend all his earnings by legal profession, for the cause of tabla.
Born in a Brahmin family of North Kolkata on Nov. 17, 1905 he learned tabla under the tutelage of Chunilal Ganguly of Kolkata, Nanhe Sahaye and Kanthe Maharaj of Beneras. His music is a demonstration of his deep and almost religious devotion to his gurus. He breathed his last on July 3rd 1993. This cassette contains an edited version of the maestros live concert in the year 1979.
