Buddhadev Das Gupta and Shankar Ghosh grew up together during their formative years. Buddhadev's Guru Sangeetacharya Radhika Mohan Moitra was extremely fond of Shankar and Shankar's Guru Sangeetacharya Jnan Prakash Ghosh had great affection for Buddhadev whom he taught quite a few compositions in various Ragas. From this beginning Buddhadev and Shankar have developed a great rapport for each other’s playing and the combination is a delightful one. In this recording Buddhadev played 'Puriya Dhanashree' in an annual function of 'Aritra Music Circle' and the chosen accompanist was, none other than Shankar Ghosh.
