Received early training at the age of only 7 years old. He was awarded SANGEET VISHARAD in the 1st class from Lucknow Bhatkhande in the year 1968. Later he received Talim from Pandit A. Kanan under his able guidance in KIRANA GHARANA. He completed his M.A. in music in the 1st class from the RABINDRA BHARATI UNIVERSITY in the year 1980. He completed his graduation with honours in chemistry in the year 1972 from Burdwan University.He is a regular Artiste in A.I.R. and T.V. Calcutta. He has demonstrated in many classical conferences as well as in India and abroad. In Calcutta he performed his vocal recital in many renowned conferences. He was invited to I.C.C.R. to perform his solo vocal recital in Calcutta. For teaching as well as to perform he toured South America and North America through I.C.C.R. He completed his Europe Continental tour in 1990-1992. There he was invited as a visiting Professor-cum-performer in Hindusthani Classical Music. He visited Germany, Holland etc. countries in Europe. He has received a well reception for his teaching and demonstrating all over in Europe and specially at Berlin and Hamburg. He also visited U.S.A. in 1995-1996 and there he received an award by the Indian Association for his excellent performance.
