It is Bihaan Music's intention to bring out recordings of Pt. A. Kanan, a hallowed name in the world of Hindustani music. His voice and specially his 'tans' were an object of envy of most of his contemporary artists. Though a formal disciple of Ustad Amir Khan, Pt. A. Kanan had developed a style of his own, yet conformed to the basic pattern of Kirana Gharana.

To give illustration of our hallowed tradition of the 'guru-shishya parampara' we are about to bring out a sarod recital of the elderly artiste Pt. Buddhadev Dasgupta a recipient of the Sangeet Natak Academy Award. Side by side a C.D. of his guru's record is brought out, that of Pt. Radhika Mohan Moitra, an even bigger name in the world of international music and a disciple of Mohd. Amir Khan related to Ustad Hafiz Khan's clan.

Our quest of authentic music will not stop here. It is our intention to bring to the forefront, the artists of the yester years who are on the verge of being forgotten and just to bring the notice of the present generation the changing face of our music for the better or for worse depending on the point of views of the listener of today and the extent to which, he has initiated into our traditional music values.

Bihaan music has made an outstanding contribution to classical music by drawing up a plan to release CD's and cassettes of major singers & instrumentalists of yester year of Bengal who had received widespread international recognition but are perhaps unfamiliar to listeners of the present generation. Prasun Banerjee's recital of Devgiri Bilawal followed by recitals of Dipali Nag, Buddhadev Dasgupta and his guru Radhika Mohan Moitra, Malabika Kanan, the nightingale of Kira na Gharana - Roshanara Begum, Yunus Hussain Khan and Sharafat Hussain Khan of Agra Gharana, duet khayal of Kumarprasad Mukherjee, Dinkar Kaikini, Pt. Satyakinkar Bandopadhyay (Bishnupur Gharana) all belonging to their heydays. Outside this Heritage series Bihaan has published CD's of Ustad Rashid Khan, Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee, Ustad Sujaat Khan, Smt. Subhra Guha, Ustad Aashish Khan, Pt. Dinanath Mishra, Falguni Mitra (Dhrupad), Amit Mukherjee (Khayal), Samar Saha (Tabla Lohora), Purnima Chaudhuri (Thumri) etc and a number of cassettes & CD's of Light Classical, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, Ragpradhan and modern songs of upcoming artists. Our offerings in future are to release CD's & cassettes of 'Tabla Lohora' (solo) of major disciples of the Late Guru Padmabhushan Jnan Prakash Ghosh or live recitals in vocal and instrument of the maestros like Salamat & Nazakat Ali Khan, Omkarnath Thakur, Nikhil Bandopadhyay and many others.
